Well guys, with the Christmas season upon us I’ve to put together a few of my top tips to stay on track during the festive period.
Tip 1: Step away from the Roses, Celebrations and other nibbles you might find yourself mindless munching on. Just 10 Celebrations rack up to a whopping 450kcals. Now I’m not saying it’s all clean eating, it’s Christmas if you can’t have something nice on Christmas Day when can you. HOWEVER! you can still have your cake and eat it without doing the dog on it. Just think of having a slice of cake with that 450kcals, I most certainly would be much more satisfied having a slice of cake. I don’t think I’ve ever said god that was gorgeous after mindless eating a few roses.
Tip 2: Drinks, be it alcohol based or non alcohol these rack up the calories. Mulled wine for instance just two tipples can mount up to 500kcals. A Starbucks caramel latte can set you back 250 kcals or a Frappuccino a whopping 400kcals. I don’t know about ye but I’d much prefer to eat those calories. Therefore, make smart choices and opt for an americano or flat white when out for coffees. When drinking, wine really is a killer for the kcals, opt for a low kcal drink and be mindful of mixers, I generally opt for diet drinks.
Tip 3: Plan ahead! Annual Christmas dinners/party’s plan for them and account for the calories. Plan what you’re going to drink and allow for the calories, start putting aside extra kcals in the piggy bank in the days coming up to the event. I generally knock 100kcals off my daily eating for a few days leading up to a big night out. That way I can enjoy a guilt free night out .
Finally get out there get those steps in meet friends for walks, a days shopping can rack up an awesome 10,000+ steps happy days right. So get out there and enjoy the festivities.
